It it not often that the opening of a cider house is attributed to skydiving, but in the case of Arsenal Cider House it is. Co-founder Bill Larkin had never been the biggest fan of hard ciders, but he was a fan of skydiving. Fast forward through many years of the adrenaline-filled pastime to when his skydiving mentor offered Bill a round of homemade hard cider. After a few sips the rest was history.
With support and enthusiasm from their local community, Bill and co-founder/wife Michelle Larkin opened the doors to their flagship cider house in 2008 in Lawrenceville, just steps away from its namesake, Allegheny Arsenal. Guests to Arsenal Cider House will not miss the namesake-based theme of the Civil War across their products and in the taproom that Michelle dedicated countless hours to designing and preparing. Nor will they miss the pioneering flavors in industry-leading ciders such as Hop Cider IPC, Grierson’s Ginger Hard Apple Cider, and Picket Bone Dry Hard Cider. With their products made from ingredients sourced from local farms, it is hard cider like you’ve never had before!
