Founded in March 2015, 11 Below Brewing takes its name from the difference between a barrel of crude oil and a barrel of beer—42 gallons of oil minus 31 gallons of beer equals 11. This clever nod to Houston’s oil and gas legacy reflects the founders’ bold leap from that industry into their passion for brewing. Starting with just three beers, they worked tirelessly to deliver their products across Houston, Galveston, and College Station, hand-delivering cases and kegs to local stores and bars for over two years before securing a distributor. Now nearing their 10th anniversary, 11 Below has become a proud cornerstone of Houston’s craft beer scene.
