Grab a growler from Fiddlehead Brewery next door, and enter the warm, inviting hearth of Folino’s, home to some of the best wood-fired pizza in Vermont. (What makes it so warm and inviting is that it’s BYOB. Also, we guess the 900-degree pizza oven doesn’t hurt.) Folino’s opened its doors in March of 2012, but they didn’t tell anyone. They didn’t even put a sign outside, and only sold 8 pizzas. By the summer of 2013, they were selling anywhere from 250 to 350 pizzas on any given Saturday.
Now, these pizza-making wizards can make up to 60 pies per hour. (Or, as we like to call it — an afternoon snack.) On a mission to make the best Neapolitan pies possible, this rustic, counter-serve spot forms all of its dough by hand and uses only the finest ingredients. The only thing better than a fresh-out-of-the-oven pizza is the frosted mug they provide for your very own craft beer.
