Tell us about yourself!
My wife, our two boys, and our two dogs live just outside of Austin, Texas. When we aren’t hitting some of the best breweries in the world, we enjoy going on adventures, especially in Colorado or Michigan.
Favorite beer(s)?
I like them all, but my favorite has to be a good, cold Czech or German Pilsner.
What do you love most about your city’s beer scene?
The community. While most of the world is going crazy, I know that I can pull up a chair at the bar of any one of the amazing breweries in and around Austin and have good times, good conversations, good food, and most importantly great beer.
Why do you love being one of the Austin Beer Guides?
I enjoy being part of the brewing community, both locally and beyond Central Texas. There is something therapeutic about the joy and conversations that surround beer and brewing. Beer is a relationship builder and a social lubricant. In a world where divisiveness drives the media cycle, beer facilitates friendships as it has for several millennia. Book a tour for proof!
If you were an animal, which animal would you be?
A rhino or a buffalo.
If you could have a drink with anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
Probably my Grandpa George. I have a lot of great memories and would love to catch up with a beer and some fishing poles.
What’s an interesting fact about you?
I was raised in Texas, but I was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I am a Yooper.
